A talk organised by CAMI in relation to the Law Society’s Pro Bono Services Office and the Mental Capacity Act was held on 21 September 2013 at Simei Care Centre Auditorium.

Ms Shahrany Hassan, Director of Development, at the Pro Bono Services Office gave an overview of the various free legal services that are available to members of the public who are in need. Their services range from the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme to Legal Advice conducted at various locations. Access to their service is by prior appointment and they can be contacted at 6536-0650 http://probono.lawsociety.org.sg/

Mr Edmund Kronenburg, Managing Partner at BraddellBrothers, an eminent local law practice founded in 1883, took participants through the extensive Mental Capacity Act through a caregiver’s perspective which cut through much of the legalese in the Act. Mr Kronenburg can be contacted at 6499-9490 http://www.braddellbrothers.com

CAMI would like to thank both the Law Society’s Pro Bono Services Office and BradellBrothers for their time and excellent presentations which were very helpful for caregivers.
